MURGOITIO WIRE-TO-WIRE IN SALT LAKE SPRINT OPENER


Mike Murgoitio and former series champion Ryan Burdett are tied for the point lead in the 2009 USAC Young Automotive Rocky Mountain Sprint Car Series going into a May 16 race at Rocky Mountain Raceways in the Utah capital.


 


Murgoitio, of Meridian, Idaho, led all 40 laps to win Saturday night’s season opener at RMR. Trailing Murgoitio’s GM Land & Cattle Eagle were Brian McClish, fast qualifier Burdett, Jim Waters and Ray Bergener.


 


McClish and Waters trail the point leaders by only four going into the May 16 race.
