SEAVEY SLOTS INTO 2ND; WINDOM SLIGHTLY EXTENDS IMW POINT LEAD

Speedway, Indiana (June 10, 2021)………Chris Windom was able to extend his USAC Indiana Midget Week point lead from 13 to 17 with only three races remaining in the series: Thursday, June 10 at Lincoln Park; Friday, June 11 at Gas City; and Saturday’s June 12 finale at Kokomo.

Despite a challenging night for the Canton, Ill. which saw him finish 12th in Wednesday night’s USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget feature at Circle City Raceway in Indianapolis, Windom slightly bumped up his point lead in the eight-race series.

However, a shakeup near the top has sent last Saturday’s Lawrenceburg winner, Logan Seavey (Sutter, Calif.), into second place in the standings due to his impressive charge from 22nd to 7th in the Circle City feature.

Buddy Kofoid (Penngrove, Calif.), last Friday’s Bloomington winner, dropped to third after enduring a tumultuous evening at Circle City, which saw him spin early while running inside the top-ten, then fought his way back into the top-ten after restarting from the tail of the field, then flipped.  Ultimately, Kofoid had to settle for a 19th place finish.

Last Thursday’s opening night Paragon winner Thomas Meseraull (San Jose, Calif.) is ninth in IMW points while Sunday’s Tri-State winner, Kyle Cummins (Princeton, Ind.), is 11th in the standings.  Corey Day (Clovis, Calif.), by virtue of his victory on Wednesday at Circle City, now sits eighth in the IMW tally.

Thursday’s Indiana Midget Week round at Lincoln Park Speedway will feature the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship and the Lincoln Park Sprint Cars.
