SPEED2 MIDGET WEEKEND INCLUDES STOPS IN NC, SC, VT, IN, IL
Speedway, Indiana (July 8, 2019)………All four of USAC’s Speed2 Midget divisions are in action this weekend from the Carolinas to the states of Vermont, Indiana and Illinois on July 12-13.
It’s a doubleheader weekend for the USAC Speed2 Eastern Midgets beginning this Friday at Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, N.C. Chris Lamb (Colfax, N.C.) claimed the Wake County win a year ago. This Saturday, July 13, it’s onto Dillon Motor Speedway in Dillon, S.C. where Sam Hatfield (Mooresville, N.C.) captured the season opener in April. Nolan Allison (Greensboro, N.C.) leads the standings heading into the weekend.
In the DMA world, the series makes its sixth appearance of the year at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Will Hull (Plainfield, Vt.) comes in as the winner of three-straight series races and has been victorious in three of the last four at Bear Ridge. He holds a solid 56-point lead in the DMA standings as the series nears the mid-way point.
Stratton Briggs (Anna, Ohio) is the winner at the Midwest Thunder Midget series’ one and only trip this season to Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind. He trails point leader, two-time series champion and two-time 2019 MTM winner Aaron Leffel (Springfield, Ohio) by 43 markers heading into Saturday’s race.
Meanwhile, the sixth visit for the IMRA series this season to Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. lies ahead this Saturday. Point leader Andy Baugh (Mason City, Ill.) has won three, but Korey Weyant (Springfield, Ill.) and Patrick Bruns (Champaign, Ill.) have collected each of the last two.
Friday at Wake County, Late Models, Mini Stocks, Bandoleros, Bombers, Mod-4s and East Coast Flathead Fords are on the docket. Front gates open at 6pm (Eastern), practice at 7pm and racing at 8pm. Adult general admission tickets are $15, Seniors/Military/Students are $12, children 6-12 are $5 and children 5 and under are free. Pit passes are $35 for adults and $20 for children under 12.
Saturday at Dillon, Late Models, Super Trucks, MASS Street Stocks, Challenger AR, 4 Cylinders, Mini Cup, Jr. Mini Cup and Banger divisions are on tap. Pit gates open at 10am (Eastern), uncontrolled practice from 11-1pm, controlled practice starts at 2pm, qualifying at 4:30pm and racing at 6pm. Adult general admission tickets are $15, and 11 and under are free. Senior and Military discounts are available. Pit passes are $25 apiece.
Saturday at Bear Ridge, Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds, Wells River Chevrolet DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, C.A. Miller Limited Late Models and Peanuts Auto Four Cylinders are also in action. Pits open at 3pm (Eastern), front gates at 3pm and racing starts at 6pm. Adult general admission tickets are $10, students 12-17 are $8, seniors 62+ are $8 and kids 11 and under are $2.
Saturday at Montpelier, UMP Modifieds, Super Streets, Thunder Cars and FWD Compacts join the midgets. Front gates open at 3pm (Eastern), hot laps at 5pm and racing at 6:30pm. Adult general admission tickets are $15, kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult. Pit passes are $30 apiece.
Saturday at Spoon River, it’s free admission for all to the grandstands! Adult pit passes are $30 while kids 10 and under pit passes are $20.
