ROTH WINS WILD ONE AT MACON
Macon, Illinois (June 1, 2019)………Tyler Roth (Springfield, Ill.) captured a wild USAC Speed2 IMRA Midget feature Saturday night in the debut appearance by the series at Macon Speedway.
The series’ first visit to a “bullring” in a while resulted in a cage match of sorts between the 23 feature starters. USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget veteran Karter Sarff (Mason City, Ill.) took the early lead, controlling the first three circuits before yielding to Adam Taylor (Dwight, Ill.).
Taylor held the lead for just two laps before hitting the cushion and flipping on the sixth lap. That sent Roth to the lead for the ensuing restart. Brayden Gaylord (Madison, Iowa) also found misfortune after flipping in the main event that was shortened from 20 to 15 laps.
Roth controlled the remainder of the way to take his first IMRA win of the season over Jake Sollenberger (Canton, Ill.), Daltyn England (Riverton, Ill.) and James Picardi (Peoria, Ill.) while Tyler Kalb (Columbus, Ohio) rounded out the top-five.
