WESTERN HPD PAVEMENT MIDGETS RESUME 3/29 AT MADERA;

DAWSON 2-FOR-2 AFTER LAKE HAVASU 50-LAPPER

Bryant Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz. will try to remain undefeated in 2014 when the USAC HPD Western Midget Series resumes March 29 at Madera (Calif.) Speedway. He leads Shawn Buckley by 14 points in the new standings after winning Saturday night’s 50-lap feature at Havasu 95 Speedway in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

Dawson passed Wally Pankratz on lap two and led the rest of the way to beat Buckley, Toni Breidinger, Pankratz and Steve Myers.

Dawson recorded five wins on his way to last year’s championship, but none came at Madera. The 2013 HPD winners at Madera were Jarid Blondel and Jake Swanson.
