WINDOM LEADS PASSING MASTER POINTS FOR SMACKDOWN IX
Kokomo, Indiana (August 28, 2020)………Chris Windom has taken the early lead of the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Smackdown IX ProSource Passing Master standings entering Friday’s second of three events this weekend at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway.
Windom (Canton, Ill.) advanced from 21st to 8th in Thursday’s Smackdown opening night feature to pick up 13 total passing master points. The two-time USAC National champion also leads the overall, yearlong ProSource Passing Master points with 112 total positions advanced throughout USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car, NOS Energy Drink National Midget and Silver Crown competition in 2020.
USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car point leader Justin Grant (Ione, Calif.) picked up nine points on Thursday while Clinton Boyles (12th) (Greenwood, Mo.) collected six of his own. Each advancing five positions were feature winner Kyle Cummins (Princeton, Ind.), 3rd place finisher Robert Ballou (Rocklin, Calif.) and 7th place finisher Chase Stockon (Fort Branch, Ind.)
ProSource has posted the $500 Passing Master reward for competitors during this week's Sprint Car Smackdown IX, which goes to the driver who advances the most total positions in the three feature events throughout Smackdown.
On Friday night of Smackdown IX, front and pit gates open at 3pm ET, drivers meeting at 6pm and cars on track at 6:30pm. On Saturday night, front and pit gates open at 3pm ET, drivers meeting at 5:30pm and cars on track at 6pm. BOSS Sprint Cars join the event card for the Saturday night program.
Adult general admission tickets are $25, children age 12 and under free in general admission seats only. Pit passes are $35. 3-day advance reserved tickets are $85 and can be purchased at the ticket window on race night. Spectator tickets available at the gate.
