Kokomo, Indiana (April 4, 2019)………Jason McDougal, who made a splash on the USAC National scene in his debut season a year ago, will compete in this weekend’s USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget “Kokomo Grand Prix” April 5-6 at Kokomo Speedway.

The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma driver will wheel the Reynolds Motorsports/Team Ripper Racing – Allgaier Performance Parts/Ripper by Jetson/Stanton SR-11 on both nights at the quarter-mile dirt oval, a place in which he was victorious in a local sprint car show last Labor Day weekend.

The midget he’s set to pilot at Kokomo was raced by Karter Sarff to 14th and 17th place finishes in Ocala, Fla. during “Winter Dirt Games X” back in February of this year.

McDougal burst onto the scene in 2018, charging from 22nd to 3rd at Putnamville, Indiana’s Lincoln Park Speedway in his USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car debut.  He topped that one with late-race heroics to win with the series last September at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Mo.

He also made 13 starts with the USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midgets in 2018, finishing a best of 4th on two occasions, at Kokomo and at Solomon Valley Raceway in Beloit, Kans.  In four USAC National Sprint Car appearances at Kokomo, McDougal recorded finishes of 19th, 7th, 7th and 4th.

On Friday night, the front gates open at 3pm (Eastern), drivers meeting at 5:30pm with cars set to hit the track at 6pm.  On Saturday night, the front gates open at 3pm (Eastern), drivers meeting at 5pm with cars set to hit the track at 5:30pm.

Sprint Cars are on the card both nights with several drivers planning to pull double-duty in both machines.
