GOLOBIC TAKES OVER LEAD IN B AND W AUTO MART PERSEVERANCE AWARD POINTS
B & W Auto Mart is offering a $250 end-of-the week perseverance prize for Indiana Midget Week in honor of the late USAC .25 Midget Series Director, Kyle McCain.
Points are awarded to the driver advancing the most positions during each night's feature from their original qualifying time. At the conclusion of the Indiana Midget Week finale Sunday, June 11 at Kokomo Speedway, the points will be tabulated and the driver with the most total points will earn the reward.
Shane Golobic leads the way with 21 overall points after two of the six races have been run, followed by Holly Shelton five markers back in second, a tie between Jerry Coons, Jr. and Chance Morton for third, while Tanner Carrick rounds out the top-five.
On the opening night at Montpelier Motor Speedway, Shane Golobic and Tanner Carrick each earned 11 points. Golobic qualified 17th and finished 6th while Carrick qualified 23rd and finished 12th.
Wednesday night saw Oklahoma’s Chance Morton score 15 points with his 24th place finish following a 39th place qualifying run. Morton was running as high as 12th in the feature when he flipped on the 19th lap of the 30-lap event.
Indiana Midget Week surges ahead to Lincoln Park Speedway on Thursday, June 8, Bloomington Speedway on Friday, June 9, Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday, June 10 and Kokomo on Sunday, June 11.
