“LEFFLER MEMORIAL” AT WAYNE CITY OCTOBER 23;
BELL WINS “4-CROWN” MIDGET RACE
Two races remain in the 2015 Honda USAC National Midget campaign and Tracy Hines took another step closer to his USAC Triple Crown target with his third-place finish in last Saturday’s “4-Crown Nationals” at the Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio.
Hines has a 25-point lead over Tanner Thorson in the latest standings, while Kevin Thomas Jr. trails Hines by 31 points in the latest point tally going into the “Jason Leffler Memorial” October 23 at Wayne City, Ill.
Christopher Bell of Norman, Okla. wheeled the Keith Kunz/Curb-Agajanian Motorsports Toyota TRD Bullet/Speedway Toyota to victory at Eldora, leading all 25 laps to beat teammate Rico Abreu, Hines, Thorson and Thomas. Bell, Abreu, Thorson and Thomas gave the Kunz/Curb-Agajanian team four of the “top-five” spots.
The Wayne City event, co-sanctioned by POWRi, which offers a whopping $20,000-to-win, will mark USAC’s initial appearance at Wayne County Speedway.
