5 STRAIGHT POINT WINS FOR JOHNSON AT QUEEN CREEK

R.J. Johnson of Phoenix, Ariz. has now won five consecutive USAC Southwest Sprint car points races and will seek his sixth in a row September 20 when the series returns to Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande.

Johnson took Saturday’s 30-lapper at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek in his Michaels entry. He caught Nick Aiuto on lap 18 and led the final 13 laps to beat Charles Davis Jr., Mike Martin, Matt Rossi and Tye Mihocko.

The victory ballooned Johnson’s point lead to 131 over runner-up Davis as the series heads to Casa Grande.
