GEORGE BIGNOTTI, 97

USAC mourns the loss of the great mechanical master George Bignotti, who passed away recently at the age of 97. Involved in seven Indianapolis 500 victories, he engineered USAC National Championships with A.J. Foyt in 1960, 1961, 1963 and 1964 and with Foyt alone earned 32 National Championship wins! The sport will miss him but his legacy will endure.
