The biggest event of their season comes to the Little Kalamazoo Speedway in Michigan, this weekend, May 11-12, 2013.   “Hosting our Midwest Thunder Event is exciting for our members,” said President Amy Hocevar.   “Driver's ages 5 – 15 years old will come from all over the country.  We are expecting racers from the Midwest in addition to some from Connecticut, North Carolina, Tennessee, New Mexico and California.”

“We would like to thank Distributors Melinda Russell and Ben Beeler of ‘Send Out Cards’ for their sponsorship,” said Hocevar.  “They have a very unique product and we are happy that they have chosen us to partner with them.  Their sponsorship enables us to provide trophies and awards for our youngsters. 

The Little Kalamazoo Track was just a mere dream two years ago.  After several families found themselves traveling over 2 hours to race, they knew they wanted a track in their own backyard.  Fashioned after the ‘fastest Quarter Midget Track’ in the nation, Orange Show, in southern, California, 10 feet was added to the straight-aways for the Little K-Zoo configuration.  “It’s a great fit on the grounds of Kalamazoo Speedway,” continued Hocevar.  In August of 2011, Little Kalamazoo hosted their first USAC .25 “Generation Next” Series National Event. 

The club has scheduled race dates on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, throughout the spring, summer and fall and Sunday’s are used for rain dates.The grandstands are packed on race day with FREE Admission for everyone.  Little K-Zoo also offers a full service concession stand priced to feed your family. 

Little Kalamazoo Speedway will be raffling a racecar at the end of their season.  Tickets will be on sale during the Midwest Thunder event.  There is also a new “Winners Circle” and the new Custom Brick program will fund the improvements.
