Terre Haute, IN.........Johnny Shipman, a long-time USAC chief starter and assistant starter at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, passed away Tuesday, April 23 in Terre Haute, Ind. He was 96. The family indicates that visitation (hot laps) is from 3-8 pm Thursday at Debaun Funeral Home (Spring Hill Chapel) at 85 E. Spring Hill in Terre Haute. The service (racing) is at 1 pm Friday.
