.25 MIDGETS “HIT THE DIRT”

            USAC’s
newest form of motorsports, the .25 Midget Series, hits the dirt for the first
time in its history this weekend when they compete at Great Lakes Speedsports
in Bellevue, Ohio.  Round 1 of the USAC “Down & Dirty” Series
is hosted by the Nortwest Ohio Quarter Midget Racing Association.

            In
their only appearance of the year at the beautiful facility located just south
of Lake Erie, the .25 Midgets will race on
Saturday and Sunday. The track is located on County Road 276, east of Bellevue.

            The
Midwest Thunder “Down & Dirty” event kicks off with unloading and
registration Friday, then complete racing programs are scheduled both Saturday
and Sunday. All classes will compete both days, with feature events both days.
Each program will conclude with victory lane ceremonies.

            Drivers
meetings are scheduled at 8:30 am
each day, followed by a mandatory handler’s meeting at 9. Practice begins at 9:30.

            The
weekend also includes paintball games, speedball and ghost town visits.

            The
2nd round of the USAC “Down & Dirty” series will take place on Aug 22-23 at
the Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, Indiana and will be hosted by the Kokomo Quarter
Midget Club.
