“LONE STAR NATIONALS” THIS WEEKEND IN SAN ANTONIO

 


Eight drivers took victory lane honors Saturday at the “Valley of the Sun” oval near Phoenix, Ariz. as the 2012 USAC Mopar .25 Midget “Generation Next Tour” debuted with the “Sprint Training Spectacular.”


 


Four of the winners were 2011 USAC Mopar .25 Midget “Generation Next” champions.


 


USAC’s 2012 Mopar .25 “Generation Next” Tour continues this coming weekend with the “Lone Star Nationals” in San Antonio, Texas. The Lone Star track is located on Rigsby Avenue in the Southside Lions Park East.


 


Friday practice is slated from 5-8 pm. Saturday’s events starts with practice at 9 am, followed by heats, lower mains and A-Mains.


Defending Light 160 Champ Harrison Burton of Huntersville, N.C. won both the Light 160 and Light World Formula A Mains at Phoenix, while defending Heavy 160 Champ Mark Miller of Mooresville, N.C. won both the Heavy 160 and Heavy World Formula A Mains.


 


Wil Raber of Allegan, Mich., last year’s Heavy Honda champ, won Saturday’s Heavy AA feature, while 2011 Junior Stock and Junior Animal champ Carson Hocevar of Portage, Mich. won Saturday’s Senior Animal A Main.


 


Logan Heath of Hereford, Ariz. won Saturday’s Junior Honda A Main, while Cameron Morga of Albuquerque, N.M. won the Senior Honda A Main. Brianna O’Bryan of Kokomo, Ind. was Saturday’s Heavy Honda A Main winner and Tyler Ankrum of San Bernardino, Calif. won the Light Mod A-Main.


 


Richie Reif and Bradley Erickson were Rookie A-Main winners.
