WET GROUNDS COMPLETE "WINTER CHALLENGE" WEEKEND "CLEAN SWEEP"
 
Peoria, AZ........Wet grounds created by persistent rains in central Arizona the past three days have conspired to force a third consecutive cancellation of "Winter Challenge" activities involving USAC's West Coast and Southwest Sprint cars at Canyon Speedway Park. Sunday's races have been cancelled, but the "Winter Challenge" resumes Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at the track and Saturday's finale includes both an afternoon and an evening event, creating a unique "doubleheader."
