Tuesday night’s Casey’s General Stores Ultimate Challenge presented by Don Lang’s Searsboro Telephone Company at Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa is being billed as the “One Night Stand for $15 Grand.” The winner takes home a check for $15,000 and numerous other incentives have been posted for participants by race organizer Terry McCarl.
Drivers Levi Jones, Chris Windom and Jon Stanbrough enter Tuesday’s Oskaloosa race separated by only 41 points in the latest AMSOIL National Sprint Car standings. A total of 68 points are available.
Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Okla. Won Sunday night’s 26-lap “Knoxville Non-Wing Nationals” AMSOIL USAC National Sprint race at the Knoxville Raceway, leading the final 14 laps in his PPM Titanium Products/Infinity Shocks/FatHeadz Eyewear/TelStar Communications XXX/Wesmar. Bacon was also the fastest qualifier. He was closely trailed at the checkered flag by Windom, Jerry Coons Jr., Stanbrough and Bryan Clauson. Stanbrough led the first seven laps and Bud Kaeding led the next five but Kaeding bicycled and spun to a stop on lap 13, relinquishing the lead to Bacon.
Rain forced cancellation of Friday night's USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car "Rumble in the Bullring" at Eagle (Neb.) Raceway.
Kaeding is the defending champion at Oskaloosa, where former race winners Dave Darland (2008), Jerry Coons Jr. (2006), Levi Jones (2005) and Travis Rilat (2002) are also expected to compete.
