CLAUSON ENDS GARDNER’S FLORIDA “STREAK” IN OCALA SPRINTS ROUND 2
Ocala, FL…….USAC National Drivers Champion Bryan Clauson of Noblesville, Ind. led the final eight laps of Friday night’s “Bubba Army Sprint Nationals” USAC AMSOIL National Sprint race at Ocala Speedway, halting Damion Gardner’s Sunshine State dominance. Clauson passed Blake Fitzpatrick on lap 23 in his Curb Records/R & B Truckers Spike/Chevy and led the rest of the way to beat Fitzpatrick, Scotty Weir, Gardner and Hunter Schuerenberg. The win stopped Gardner’s three-race Florida winning streak dating back to last year. In victory lane to congratulate Clauson was Shane Hmiel, continuing his recovery from injuries suffered late last year. The win put Clauson one point ahead of Gardner in the 2011 series standings.
