USAC RETURNS TO STOCKTON MAY 2

SWANSON TAKES 50-LAPPER AT ROSEVILLE, HAMILTON 7TH

USAC racing returns to the Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway May 2 after a hiatus of three years, and three-time USAC Western Sprint Car Champion Tony Hunt will be the man to beat, having won the last three USAC races at the storied oval (two Sprints and a Midget) in 2006.

Hunt, who was the fastest qualifier at Roseville, Calif. Saturday night, is eighth in the 2009 series standings and has 25 career wins, 10 more than anyone else in series history.

Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, Calif. continues to impress many with his USAC racing success, winning Saturday night’s 50-lap USAC Western Sprint feature at All American Speedway in Roseville. Driving the TK Motorsports entry, he battled Nick Green until taking the lead for good on lap 42 and leading the final nine laps to record the win.

Brian McClish took second ahead of JoJo Helberg, Audra Sasselli-Thornburg and Eric Humphries. McClish and Helberg are in a virtual tie for the series point lead.

Indianapolis 500 veteran Davey Hamilton, making a rare series start, won his heat race but finished seventh in the feature.
