Perris, CA
Danny Sheridan of Santa Maria, Calif. scored his third victory of the 2008 Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car campaign Friday night in the 30-lap Independence Day feature at the Perris Auto Speedway. Sheridanled the last 11 laps in his Kittle Motorsports Scott Sales Company/Pace Electronics Stinger/Chevy to beat series point leader Mike Spencer, Alan Ballard, Garrett Hansen and Cory Kruseman. Ballard led the first 10 laps, then yielded to Rip Williams for two laps. Williams, making his return to the series after an early-2008 injury, eventually finished 19th. Spencer led laps 13-19 before Sheridan took over. Sheridan now trails Spencer by 67 points going into a July 19 race at Perris.
