USAC NOS ENERGY DRINK MIDGET NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
Formats may be altered from base formats listed here at the discretion of the chief steward
Pill draw draft to determine order of heat race selection.
Heat race placement selection (driver picks which heat to participate in and the order to qualify in during a draft style event.
QUALIFICATIONS
All cars qualify – groups determined by heat race. Cars will qualify in the order picked by drivers. 36 points will be given for fast time in each group and minus three points per position thereafter.
HEAT RACES
Six 10 lap Heat Races: Top 8 cars inverted in heats by qualifying points/time. 36 points will be given for first place and minus 3 points per position thereafter. Four cars - first place (regardless of point total) and the three highest in total points (total points include qualifying and heat points) in each heat - transfer to the feature. All others will go to the semi-features.
SEMI-FEATURE:
Two 12-lap Semi-Features: Total points from qualifying and heat race finishes will be used to line up the semi-features. Lineups will be straight up based on points. The top-two in total points will start on the pole in each respective semi-feature. The next two in total points will start outside the front row in each respective semi-feature and so on. The top-two finishers from each semi-feature will transfer to the feature but will not earn semi-feature points. 50 points will be awarded for third place, minus two points for each position thereafter.
FEATURE:
30 Laps, 24 Cars. First place and three highest in points from heat races, plus two transfers from each semi-feature. All cars, including semi-feature transfers will use total points to determine the feature lineup. The top-12 in total points will line up inverted. The lowest 12 in total points will be lined straight-up behind the 12 inverted cars. In the feature, 100 points will be awarded to first place and minus two points per position thereafter.
