BACON LEADS OVAL NATIONALS POINTS AFTER NIGHT ONE
By: Richie Murray – USAC Media
Perris, California (November 4, 2022)………Brady Bacon won Thursday’s opening night feature, putting him in the driver’s seat of the point standings for the 26th running of the Heimark Anheuser Busch Budweiser Oval Nationals at southern California’s Perris Auto Speedway entering Friday night's, November 4 program.
Total points are accumulated throughout Thursday and Friday night’s events co-sanctioned by the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship and AMSOIL USAC CRA Sprint Cars.
At the conclusion of Friday night’s program, the top-six in combined points from Thursday and Friday’s programs will be locked into Saturday night’s 40-lap feature event.
Prior to the feature, those same six will take part in a special six-car, six-lap dash in which the finishing order will determine the starting positions for the first three rows of Saturday night’s $20,000-to-win feature.
On Saturday, single car qualifying, heat races and a semi-feature will be held solely for all cars not in the top-six of the points during Saturday’s program. Those transfers will slot in behind the top-six in Saturday’s Oval Nationals feature event.
Thursday and Friday will be full, points-paying events for the USAC’s National and CRA Sprint Car series. Saturday will be feature points only.
