Kokomo, Indiana (August 27, 2022)………Kyle Cummins leads an eight-pack of drivers into Saturday night’s finale of the Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Sprint Car Smackdown XI at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway on August 27.
The Princeton, Ind. driver, along with seven others, have locked themselves into Saturday night’s feature event as well as the King of The Hill by virtue of their performances and combined point totals from Thursday and Friday’s Smackdown programs.
Joining Cummins (688 points) among the top-eight are Greenfield, Indiana’s C.J. Leary (666), Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Jason McDougal (646), Franklin, Indiana’s Emerson Axsom (642), Ione, California’s Justin Grant (638), Anaheim, California’s Swanson (634), Rocklin, California’s Robert Ballou (634) and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon (632).
The three-lap King of the Hill races feature two cars going head-to-head in a bracket style, single elimination tourney to determine the top-eight starting positions for the night’s feature, with the eventual winner of all three rounds securing the pole position for Saturday’s 40-lap main event.
All other drivers will take part in a series of qualifying races in order to transfer into the big show followed by last chance races and the $15,000-to-win, $1,500-to-start feature.
On Saturday, the gates open at 4pm Eastern. The driver’s meeting takes place at 5:30pm and hot laps begin at 6pm, with racing immediately following. No qualifying will be held on Saturday.
Saturday’s general admission tickets are $35, kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $40 for members and $45 for non-members.
