RADER RAIDS FREMONT FOR FIRST USAC MIDWEST THUNDER WIN
Fremont, Ohio (July 23, 2022)………Drew Rader shot by point leader Stratton Briggs for the lead at the halfway point of Saturday night’s USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget feature at Ohio’s Fremont Speedway.
From there, the Findlay, Ohio native led the final eight circuits of the 15-lap main event to score his first career series victory in his Mark Bassitt-owned number 74.
Briggs (Anna, Ohio) led the first seven laps of the feature, but fell to fifth in the final running order, which continued his streak of 11 top-five finishes in 11 starts this season and extended his point lead to 119.
Josh Yenser (Plain City, Ohio) finished as the runner-up with Abby Hohlbein (Cloverdale, Ohio) third, Jakeb Boxell (Zanesville, Ind.) fourth with Briggs rounding out the top-five.
