BLOOMINGTON USAC SPRINTS RAINED OUT JUST PRIOR TO FEATURE

Bloomington, Indiana (April 29, 2022)………Just as the feature was set to begin, the skies opened up and washed away Friday night’s USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship event, the Larry Rice Classic, at Bloomington (Ind.) Speedway.

Plans are being made to hold tonight’s feature event later on this season at Bloomington.  Stay tuned for an announcement in the near future.  Friday night’s program is considered complete as far as ticket sales are concerned.

Prior to the rain, Jake Swanson (Anaheim, Calif.) set Fatheadz Fast Qualifying time with a lap of 10.931 seconds around the 1/4-mile red clay oval.

Kyle Shipley (Sun City, Ariz.), Shane Cottle (Kansas, Ill.), Emerson Axsom (Franklin, Ind.) and Brandon Morin (Jasonville, Ind.) captured the four heat race victories.

Shane Cockrum (Benton, Ill.) scored the victory in the Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Semi-Feature. 

Braxton Cummings (Bedford, Ind.) charged from 14th to the 6th and final transfer spot during the semi-feature to earn the GSP Quality Driving Performance of the Night, his second GSP award of the year so far.

Brady Bacon (Broken Arrow, Okla.) kicked off the night by setting the fastest time in Dirt Draft Hot Laps at 11.047 seconds.
