WILSON JETS TO THIRD CAREER USAC WSO TITLE IN 2021
Speedway, Indiana (October 13, 2021)………Brett Wilson became the first USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma champion in 2018. He followed that performance up by becoming the second ever series champion in 2019. In 2021, the Coweta, Okla. native became the first driver to be named a three-time titlist with the series.
The all-time winningest series driver added two more wins to his tally in 2021, sweeping both races held at Oklahoma Sports Park in Ada in the opener on May 8 and in the penultimate round on July 31, upping his victory total with the series to 11.
Wyatt Burks (Topeka, Kan.) scores his second career WSO triumph on May 14. Three events were co-sanctioned by the USAC Wholesale Batteries Midwest Wingless Racing Association, which produced three first-time winners.
Wesley Smith (Billings, Mo.) snagged the victory at 81 Speedway in Park City, Kan. Tim Kent (Bristow, Okla.) did, likewise, at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson. Xavier Doney (Odessa, Mo.) raced to victory lane in the season finale at Salina Speedway in Kan.
Wilson’s final margin of victory in the series’ point standings (190) was the largest point differential in the four-year history of the series, breaking his own mark of 118 points set in 2019.
