SANTOS DOUBLES UP WITH SPRINT WIN AT LOR

Brownsburg, Indiana (June 18, 2021)………Bobby Santos led all 40 laps of Lucas Oil Raceway’s Thursday Night Thunder Homecoming to collect his fourth career sprint car victory at the .686-mile paved oval.

The event was a non-points special event for the USAC Sprint Cars.

Santos (Franklin, Mass.) was the fastest qualifier for the event at 20.754 sec., got the jump on the start and withstood multiple challenges throughout the 40-lap feature.

Santos closed out his 10^th career Lucas Oil victory – fourth in the sprint car – by a 0.952 second margin over Kody Swanson (Kingsburg, Calif.), with Billy Wease (Noblesville, Ind.) third, Derek Bischak (Angola, Ind.) fourth and Dakoda Armstrong (New Castle, Ind.) fifth.

It was just the beginning of a highly successful night for Santos at LOR, following up his sprint car victory with a win in the ensuing 40-lap midget feature.

The race was slowed by Justin Harper’s wall scrape in turn three on the second lap of the event.  On lap 25, fourth-running Taylor Ferns and the lapped car of 11^th place Don Hamilton tangled in turn one with both ending up against the outside wall.
