COONS REPEATS WITH BLOOMINGTON INDIANA SPRINT WEEK VICTORY

Bloomington, Ind…….Jerry Coons Jr. of Tucson, Ariz. scored his second consecutive feature victory of the 2008 Chevy Powers “Indiana Sprint Week” Friday night at Bloomington Speedway, leading the final seven laps of the 30-lap race in his Kroger/Tide, Bounty/Pringles F5/Gaerte Mopar. The win boosted Coons to second in the Chevy Powers Indiana Sprint Week standings, six behind Dave Darland going into Saturday night’s finale at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind. Levi Jones finished second at Bloomington, followed by Darland, Shane Cottle and Jeff Bland Jr. Jones trails Darland by only nine points and Cottle is only 15 back going into the finale! Bryan Clauson and Cottle traded the lead back and forth for the first 23 laps of the race. Darland started 22nd after qualifying 33rd and charged from 13th in the closing laps to salvage third and the point lead at the checkered flag.
