USAC REGIONAL RACING PREVIEW: (APRIL 23-24)

 

USAC WINGLESS SPRINTS OKLAHOMA:

Friday, April 23 – Red Dirt Raceway (Meeker, Oklahoma)

Saturday, April 24 – Enid Speedway (Enid, Oklahoma)

Meeker, Oklahoma………USAC Wingless Sprints Oklahoma opens up its fourth season at the place where it all began – Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Oklahoma – this Friday night, April 23, followed by the weekend’s capper, Saturday night, April 24, at Enid (Okla.) Speedway.

The series makes its 10th appearance at Red Dirt, which has served as an omen of sorts over the past three seasons with each titlist also winning a race at Red Dirt that same year: Brett Wilson (2018-19) and Ty Hulsey (2020).

Wilson is the lone driver to win USAC WSO features at both Red Dirt and Enid, which he won at near the end of the 2020 season.

On Friday night, gates open at 6pm CDT with the drivers meeting at 6:40pm and racing at 7:30pm.  General admission tickets are $15 with high school students and younger just $5 (must show student ID).  Kids 5 and under are free.  Tailgate area is $80 per carload (max of 8 people, and everyone must be in the vehicle and only one ice chest per vehicle).  Pit passes are $30 (5 years and younger are only $10).  Joining USAC WSO is the Mod/B-Mod Shootout, Pure Stocks, Hornet/Tuners, Non-Wing Micros and Mini Mods.

On Saturday, pits open at 3pm CDT with front gates opening at 4pm and racing at 7:30pm.  Adult tickets are $15, and $12 for seniors, military and students age 12-15.  Children under the age of 12 are free.  Sooner Sprints, A-Modifieds, Sport Mods, Factory Stocks and Hot Shots are also on the card.

 

USAC MIDWEST REGIONAL MIDGETS:

Saturday, April 24 – Lincoln Park Speedway (Putnamville, Indiana)

Putnamville, Indiana………USAC’s Midwest Regional Midget division travels to Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Ind. for its season opener this Saturday night, April 24.

Emerson Axsom captured the most recent USAC Midwest Regional Midget feature event at Lincoln Park in July 2020.  Chett Gehrke captured the 2020 season title.

Each event will utilize an open format, allowing both current National and SpeeD2 engines.  Each feature race on the schedule will pay $1,200 to win and $125 to start along with tow money for non-qualifiers.

All events on the schedule will pay points toward the USAC Midwest Regional Midget standings and a champion will be crowned at the conclusion of the season.

Sprint Cars, Modifieds, Super Stocks and Bombers are in action as well at LPS on Saturday.  Pits open at 3pm ET, stands at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm.  General admission tickets are $20 for adults with children age 10 and under free.  Pit passes are $35 for adults and free for ages 10 and under.

 

AMSOIL USAC CRA SPRINT CARS:

Saturday, April 24 – Perris Auto Speedway (Perris, California)

Perris, California………This Saturday, April 24th, the cars and stars of the AMSOIL USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series will make their triumphant return to Perris Auto Speedway (Perris, CA).

Promoted by Don Kazarian, the “Sokola Shootout” will also showcase the PAS Senior Sprint Cars. The spectator gates will open at 5:00pm and racing at "America's Premier Dirt Track" will start at 7:00pm.

Pit passes are available and grandstand tickets are only available online at www.tix.com/ticket-sales/pas/7. THERE WILL BE NO WALKUP SALES FOR THE EVENT. The show will follow COVID-19 protocols and face coverings are required for people on the grounds.

USAC IMRA SPEED2 MIDGETS:

Saturday, April 24 – Spoon River Speedway (Canton, Illinois)

Canton, Illinois………USAC IMRA SpeeD2 Midgets make their 2021 season debut Saturday night, April 24, at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill.

Seven Spoon River stops were made in 2020 with reigning champion Bryan Stanfill and two-time champ Andy Baugh winning twice apiece.  Cody Gerdes, Shane Morgan and Will Armitage each won once.

The Renegades of Dirt, Pro Late Models, E-Mods, Hornets and Street Stocks are also in action.  Pits open at 2pm (CT), stands at 5pm, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 7pm.  General admission tickets are $20 while children age 10 and under are free.  Pit passes are $35.

 

USAC MIDWEST THUNDER SPEED2 MIDGETS:

Saturday, April 24 – Atomic Speedway (Waverly, Ohio)

Waverly, Ohio………For just the second time ever, Atomic Speedway will host USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget racing this Saturday night, April 24.

Chett Gehrke captured the series’ Atomic debut last September while Jacob Denney went on to win the series title.

Saturday is Open Wheel Night at Atomic with 410 c.i. Winged Sprint Cars, Modifieds and Sport Mods also in competition.
