SPEED2 MIDGETS HEAD FOR MADERA, SHENANDOAH & MONTPELIER!
USAC’s Speed2 Midgets compete in California, Virginia and Indiana this week as the Western US, Eastern and Midwest Thunder series hit the final stretch.
Jesse Love IV leads the Western US contingent to Madera (Calif.) Speedway this Saturday, while Jessica Bean leads the Eastern series to Shenandoah (Va.) Speedway and Aaron Leffel tops the Midwest series, which heads to Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway, also Saturday.
Will Hull of Plainfield, Vt. won Saturday night’s 30-lap USAC Speed2 DMA Midget points finale at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt., passing Joe Krawiec on lap six and leading the rest of the way. Jeff Horn took second ahead of Krawiec, John Heydenreich and newly-crowned series champion Dean Christensen.
Andy Baugh of Mason City, Ill. won Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 IMRA Midget finale at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. and runner-up Dillon Morley ended up as the series champion for 2017. Baugh passed Robby McQuinn on lap five and led the rest of the 30-lap feature to beat Morley, Tyson Hart, Chad McDermand and McQuinn.
