KENTUCKY, IOWA and INDIANA HOST SPEED2 MIDGETS THIS WEEK
USAC Speed2 Midget activity stays in the Midwest this week, with events in Kentucky, Illinois, Iowa and Indiana. Jessica Bean leads the Eastern contingent to Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville Thursday. Dillon Morley leads the IMRA standings into Saturday’s points race at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa. Aaron Leffel is the point leader in the Midwest Thunder Series, which visits Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway Saturday and Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway Sunday.
Dillon Morley of Moline, Ill. led the final six laps of Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 IMRA Midget race at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. Andy Baugh finished second ahead of Adam Taylor, Jeremy Hull and Shane Morgan. Mitchell Davis led the first 14 laps.
Daniel Anderson led all 20 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 Western Midget race at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. Series overall point leader Jesse Love IV took second ahead of dirt point leader Adam Lemke, Mike Leach Sr. and Tom Paterson.
Adam Lemke of Hollister, Calif. gabbed Friday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 Western US Midget race at The Dirt Track at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, Calif. Love was second ahead of Ashley Hazelton, Max Guilford and Paterson.
Seth Carlson of Brimfield, Mass. led all 20 laps to win Saturday night’s 20-lap “double points” USAC Speed2 DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Derek O’Hearn finished second ahead of Joe Krawiec, Adam Whitney and Jeff Horn.
Korbyn Hayslett of Troy, Ohio led all 25 laps of Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway. Stratton Briggs, Alex Watson, Aaron Leffel and Mike Hessel rounded out the “top-five.”
Chris Lamb of Greensboro, N.C. won Friday night’s 50-lap USAC Speed2 Eastern Midget race at Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, N.C. He took the lead from Jessica Bean on lap 14 and led the rest of the way. Bean, who led the first 13 laps, finished second ahead of Jake Garcia, Jake Trainor and Sam Hatfield.
Saturday’s scheduled Eastern race at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C. was cancelled due to rain.
