USAC SPEED2 MIDGET OUTINGS SET FOR BEAR RIDGE, HIGHLAND RIM, KENTUCKY AND 281
Four events are on this weekend’s docket for USAC’s Speed2 Midget divisions in Vermont, Tennessee, Kentucky and Texas. Saturday’s races are at 281 Speedway in Stephenville, Texas (Gulf Coast), Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. (DMA) and Highland Rim Speedway in Ridgetop, Tenn. (Eastern). Sunday’s race is at Kentucky Motor Speedway in Whitesville (Eastern).
Series point leaders are Dean Christensen (DMA), Kyle Jones (Gulf Coast) while Jessica Bean and George Kurtz are tied atop the Eastern standings.
Cody Brewer, Gedd Ross and Adam Taylor posted USAC Speed2 feature wins last week.
Gedd Ross of Macomb, Ill. won Saturday night’s “Autism Awareness Night” 20-lap USAC Speed2 IMRA Midget race at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. Ross grabbed the lead on lap 13 and led the rest of the way to beat Tyson Hart, Mitchell Davis, Dillon Morley and Chase McDermand. Adam Taylor led the first 12 laps.
Adam Taylor of Shorewood, Ill. led all 15 laps to win Sunday night’s USAC Speed2 IMRA Midget race at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa. Dillon Morley, Jeremy Hull, Robert Bell and Kurt Mueller rounded out the “top-five” at the checkered flag.
Cody Brewer of Choctaw, OK won Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 Gulf Coast Midget race at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas. He trailed Travis Scott for 15 laps, then led the final five for the win over Scott, Kyle Jones, Paul White and Ty Hulsey.
Last Saturday’s scheduled USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway was rained out.
