HPDS IN ACTION IN NORTH CAROLINA, VIRGINIA, OHIO & CALIFORNIA;
NOBILE WINS LVMS 30-LAP HPD RACE
USAC’s Eastern, Midwest and Western HPD Midget series all see action this week with races in North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and California.
Dylan Nobile of Clovis, Calif. leads the Western series to Madera (Calif.) Speedway Saturday for the “Summertime Horsepower Nationals.” He caught Jeff Kelley on lap 28 and led the final three laps to win Saturday night’s 30-lap race at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway Bullring. Cody Jessop took second ahead of Kelley, who led the first 27 laps. Toni Breidinger was fourth and Ashley Hazelton fifth.
Jessop remains atop the Western Pavement standings entering the Madera race.
Jacob Stickle will lead the USAC Midwest HPD Midgets to this Saturday’s race at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park while Chris Lamb is the Eastern point leader entering this week’s races at Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, N.C. (Friday) and South Boston (Va.) Speedway Saturday.
