BRUNS SWEEPS ILLINI IGNITE FEATURES

Nevada and Washington host Honda USAC Ignite Midget races this week. Saturday’s race at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring sees Bryant Dawson entering the race with a 22-point lead over Jarid Blondel. Chase Goetz holds a commanding lead in the Washington series which visits Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma Saturday.

Patrick Bruns of Champaign, Ill. swept a pair of Illinois races for the USAC Midwest Dirt Ignite Midget series last weekend. Driving his Cain’s Marine Welding/Tin Cup RV Park Beast, he won Friday at Kankakee County Speedway and Saturday at Macon Speedway.

Bruns passed Mike Gass on lap 17 and led the final four laps for the win at Kankakee over Gass, Gage Walker, Joey Greening and Cooper Clouse, who led the first four laps of the race. He led all 20 laps at Macon to beat Clouse, Greening, Gage Walker and Toby Alfrey.

Walker will take an 81-point lead into the Midwest Dirt finale September 27 at Gas City (Ind.) Speedway.
