GAS CITY, PLYMOUTH, ALGER ON TAP FOR IGNITES;

RABER TAKES 2 AND EASTERN MIDGET WEEK TITLE;

LUNDSTROM, LAMB & GOETZ ALSO SCORE

Honda USAC Ignite Midget racing unfolds in Indiana and Washington this weekend, with races at Gas City and Plymouth in the Hoosier State and at Skagit Speedway in Alger in the Evergreen State.

Chris Lamb tops the latest USAC Midwest Ignite standings entering this week’s races, while Chase Goetz is the Washington leader following yet another victory last weekend.

Wil Raber of Otsego, Mich. captured the overall Eastern Midget Week title after feature victories at Concord at Altamahaw, N.C. Wednesday and Friday. He led the final 34 laps to win a 50-lapper at Concord Speedway on Wednesday, beating Matthew Lundstrom, Tyler Corriher, Lamb and Justin Whittall. On Friday at Ace Speedway he led all 30 laps for another win as Blaine Leydig, Ryan Krachun, Lundstrom and Lamb completed the “top-five.”

Lundstrom, of Concord, also won a 50-lapper at Concord Wednesday, passing Lamb on the 11th lap and leading the rest of the way to beat Raber, Lamb, Corriher and Krachun.

Lamb won the first of the two 30-lappers at Ace Friday, leading the final six laps after passing Corriher on lap 25. Corriher was second ahead of Lundstrom, Raber and Leydig.

Honda USAC Washington Ignite Midget point leader Chase Goetz of Snohomish, Wash. scored his fifth victory of the year Saturday night at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma. He passed Elma Auto Racing Hall of Fame fast qualifier Garrett Thomas on lap 23 and led the final three laps to beat Thomas, Robby Vaughn, Ariel Biggs and Jeremy Miller. Goetz also won the Speedmart Hard Charger award and Tristin Thomas was the NWSPRINTCARHISTORY Rookie of the Race.
