INVOLVES DATES AT CONCORD MOTOR SPEEDWAY
The upcoming USAC Eastern/Carolina Ford Focus “Midweek Mayhem” series at Concord Motorsport Park in North Carolina has been revamped and significant changes in the event dates are a result.
Races originally scheduled at the 1/4-mile paved oval June 16, 23, 30 and July 7 have been removed from the calendar and replaced by a six-race series of Wednesday night races beginning July 21 and ending August 25. The dates in between are July 28, August 4, 11 and 18.
The new dates reflect the Carolina Series’ efforts to mirror the pro-forma established by the Indianapolis Speedrome’s weekly Regional racing series which similarly includes six Wednesday night races. Plans are also being formulated for possible involvement of the USAC Mopar .25 Midget Series in the weekly Concord programs.
Included in this slate are the Eastern/Carolina Ford Focus and Young Guns series and an open test day is expected to be announced soon for sometime at the end of this month.
This marks the third year for the Carolina Wednesday night events. The goal is to build a bigger and better series for series participants and the Wednesday night scheduling provides an arena of mid-week family fun for all involved.
