ARMSTRONG, WELCH, WILSDON TAKE ANDERSON FEATURES
The next USAC “regional” tripleheader is now scheduled for July 10 at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway following cancellation of this Wednesday night’s (June 24) scheduled events at the Illiana Motor Speedway in Schererville, Ind.
Caleb Armstrong of New Castle, Ind. piloted his Bungee North America/Anderson’s Grain Beast/Mopar to victory in Friday night’s 30-lap USAC Regional Midget race at the Anderson Speedway. Armstrong led all 30 laps to beat Jeremy Warren, Alison MacLeod, Kyle Hamilton and Mario Marietta. Hamilton retained the Regional Midget Series point lead with his finish. Dakoda Armstrong was the fastest qualifier.
Dillon Welch of Indianapolis, Ind. scored his third feature victory of the 2009 USAC Kenyon Midget campaign Friday night, leading all 30 laps at the Anderson Speedway in his St. Vincent Sports Performance/VCS Yamaha. He was trailed at the checkered flag by Grant Galloway, Dalton Armstrong, Taylor Ferns and Jared Marks.
Adam Wilsdon of Howell, Mich. scored his first USAC feature victory in Friday night’s 30-lap USAC Midwest Ford Focus race at the Anderson Speedway. Leading all the way in his Bell Bullet, he beat series point leader Joe Liguori to the stripe. Jimmy Simpson, Katie Hargitt and Tyler Cottongim rounded out the “top-five.”
