BONUSES ADDED FOR SMACKDOWN IX
Kokomo, Indiana (August 27, 2020)………A number of bonuses and awards have been added for this week’s Sprint Car Smackdown IX at Kokomo Speedway on Thursday, Aug. 27, Friday, Aug. 28 and Saturday, Aug. 29.
Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Cars and the Tony Elliott Foundation have continued their great support of USAC racing with $2,500 worth of bonuses at this week's three-night USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car event at Kokomo.
Elliott’s has posted a $500 bonus, which will go the Smackdown Rookie of the Year. A winning bonus of $500 each night will go to the feature winner on both Thursday and Friday of Smackdown while $1,000 will be awarded to the USAC 40-lap feature winner this Saturday night courtesy of Elliott’s, bumping up the winner’s total take home share to $11,000.
ProSource has once again put up rewards for competitors during this week's Sprint Car Smackdown IX, including a $500 Passing Master bonus for the driver who advances the most total positions from his or her original starting spot throughout the three feature events during Smackdown. Additionally, ProSource has added a $100 Hard Work bonus each night.
One of the great traditions on the Saturday night of Smackdown is B & W Auto Mart King of the Hill, which pits eight total cars in a tournament, bracket style format. Two cars will face off against each other at a time for three laps, carving the field down to the final two drivers who’ll duke it out for a chance to win the pole position for Saturday’s A-Main and a check for $418.29 from B & W for their efforts.
Previous winners of King of the Hill include Tracy Hines (2012), Chase Stockon (2013), Brady Bacon (2014-15), Tyler Courtney (2016 & 19), Kevin Thomas Jr. (2017) and Justin Grant (2018).
Fast Qualifying time on Thursday and Friday night will be sponsored by Fatheadz Eyewear, who’ll pay $100 to the driver clocking in the fastest in time trials. Simpson Race Products, Competition Suspension Inc., AutoMeter and Indy Race Parts proudly sponsor each of the four heat races while Indy Metal Finishing is the title sponsor of the semi-feature.
KSE Racing Products supports the Hard Charger and Wilwood Brakes will reward the 13th place finisher each night. Roger & Barb Tapy are supplying the 13th fastest qualifier with a fresh right rear tire each night. Saldana Racing Products is the sponsor of the first non-transfer and the “sweep,” if a driver can set fast time in qualifying, win his or her heat, then capture the victory in the feature event all in one night.
AMSOIL is the title sponsor of the USAC National Sprint Car championship. NOS Energy Drink is the title sponsor of the USAC Midget National Championship. Hoosier Racing Tire is the “Official Tire of the United States Auto Club. FloRacing is the official video partner of the United States Auto Club.
Added to their Smackdown support, ProSource has put up a $2,500 year-end reward to the driver who passes the most total cars during the feature events throughout USAC’s 2020 Silver Crown, National Sprint and National Midget season.

On Thursday and Friday night of Smackdown IX, front and pit gates open at 3pm ET, drivers meeting at 6pm and cars on track at 6:30pm. On Saturday night, front and pit gates open at 3pm ET, drivers meeting at 5:30pm and cars on track at 6pm. BOSS Sprint Cars join the event card for the Saturday night program.
Adult general admission tickets are $25, children age 12 and under free in general admission seats only. Pit passes are $35. 3-day advance reserved tickets are $85 and can be purchased at the ticket window on race night. Spectator tickets available at the gate.
