GRANT LEADS PROSOURCE FAST TIME CHALLENGE INTO SEPTEMBER
As the USAC season moves into the month of September, one of the races to keep an eye on down the stretch is the $2500-to-win ProSource Fast Time Challenge that goes to the driver earning the most combined fast qualifying times throughout 2017 in the Silver Crown, National Sprint and National Midget divisions.
Justin Grant has earned a total of eight fast qualifying times this season (7 Sprint Car and 1 Midget). His lone quick time in the midget came at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway in April. His seven fast times in the sprint car have come on tracks of all sizes, from quarter-miles to three-eighths to half-miles (Ocala, Fla., Lawrenceburg, Ind., Abbottstown, PA, Port Royal, PA, Haubstadt, Ind., Moberly, MO and Kokomo, Ind.).
In addition to his qualifying prowess, the Ione, California native leads the USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car standings is the only driver to win features in all three USAC National divisions this year, the first to do so in a single season since Tracy Hines in 2013.
Chase Stockon is a distant second in the standings with 5 fast qualifying times, followed by Brady Bacon and Kody Swanson with 4 while Kevin Thomas, Jr. rounds out the top-five with 3.
