Bud Kaeding of Campbell, Calif. won Saturday night's 50-lap Sands Chevrolet"Copper on Dirt" USAC K & N Silver Crown race at Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, Ariz.
 
Kaeding battled Jesse Hockett for 47 laps, then grabbed the lead on lap 48 and led the final three laps in his Alviso Rock/Kaeding Performance DRC/Mopar to beat Hockett, Levi Jones, Tracy Hines and Derek Hagar. Levi Jones was the fastest qualifier and Hockett won Friday's 10-lap"Copper Bowl Shootout" to earn the pole starting spot.
 
Kaeding's fifth Silver Crown victory puts the 2006 and 2007 series champion atop the K & N Silver Crown standings going into the May 22"Hoosier Hundred" at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in Indianapolis.
