PROSOURCE FAST QUALIFYING RECORDS OF THE 2010s DECADE
One driver and two laps versus the clock. Seems so simple on paper. But qualifying up front night-in, night-out throughout a decade is an incredible feat that so few have been able to achieve on a consistent basis.
In the decade of the 2010s, 77 different drivers have recorded a fast-qualifying time in USAC National competition. For the past several years, Buck and Betty Rice of ProSource have generously provided their financial support to the drivers who have clocked in with the fastest time of the night at each and every USAC Silver Crown, National Sprint Car and National Midget event.
In fact, throughout the 2016 season, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s Brady Bacon set ProSource fast time on eight occasions and was the only one to do so in all three National divisions. As a result, Bacon earned the $2500 ProSource Fast Time Challenge Award in addition to collecting $800 ($100 per night for each fast-qualifying time) for a $3300 total prize for his efforts.
Since 2010, however, no individual has scored more ProSource Fast Qualifying awards than the late Bryan Clauson. The legend from Noblesville, Indiana is the only driver to have the most ProSource Fast Times in a single season twice during that span (2010 and 2012). In 2012, Clauson recorded 13 fastest qualifying times – the most any driver has had in one season since 2010.
Amazingly, Clauson’s 47 ProSource Fast Qualifying times are, by far, the most earned by any driver in USAC National competition in the decade of the 2010s. Dave Darland and Tracy Hines are tied for second with 29 each. Bacon is fourth with 27 and Kody Swanson sits fifth with 20.
Drivers who earned the most ProSource Fast Qualifying awards each year in the decade of the 2010s include Clauson (2010 & 2012), Levi Jones (2011), Darland (2013), Hines (2014), Chase Stockon (2015) and Bacon (2016).
USAC thanks its sponsorship partner, ProSource, for its incredible support through its contingency program with the club's three national divisions.

USAC regrets its error in last Friday’s post-banquet article that referred to ProSource by the incorrect name.
