UPDATED 2016 USAC WESTERN MIDGET MUFFLER LIST

Officials with the USAC Western States Midget Series have issued an updated list of approved mufflers for competition in 2016. The twelve approved mufflers have been tested and will help meet the sound levels required by racetracks with strict noise regulations. It will still be the racer’s responsibility to meet the 95db sound rule enforced at most California racetracks.

“It is our goal and hope that the combination of large choices will enable the racers to find a muffler that works for their combination without costing them a bunch of money,” stated USAC Western Director Chris Kearns. “At the same time, we can keep the racetracks and neighbors happy so that we can preserve midget racing.”

The USAC Western States Midget Series will open their 34th season on Wednesday, March 23rd at Placerville (Calif.) Speedway. Located on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, California, the “Placerville Short Track Showdown” will also showcase the World of Outlaw Craftsman Sprint Cars.
