RAIN AGAIN INTERRUPTS “HUT HUNDRED” PLANS
Rains and wet grounds have again forced postponement of Wednesday night’s “Hut Hundred” Honda USAC National Midget race, co-sanctioned by POWRi, at Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach. Ill.
“The weather has not been in favor of dirt track racing this Summer. We've had rain since Sunday and it’s still raining here,” say race organizers Kevin and Tammy Gundaker, “and we are unable to provide the type of track conditions and fan conditions we desire to protect the integrity of this great event. We are committed to the tradition of this race and will seek an alternate date solution if at all possible this year.”
The “Hut Hundred” is in its 61st year and Wednesday’s race would have been the first at Tri-City.
The Honda USAC National Midgets, coupled with the POWRi and BADGER Midget Series, are slated Friday and Saturday nights in the “Bash at Belle Clair” at Belle Clair Speedway in Belleville, Ill.
