SWEEP
ROUND 5 OF USAC’S GENERATION NEXT TOUR
Clawson, Mich.
pilot Dean Creech thwarted what could have been a clean sweep of last weekend’s
Round 5 of the USAC .25 “Generation Next” tour by Indiana and Ohio drivers.
Creech won the Half Division, but all other divisional victories at the “Kokomo
Klash” in Kokomo, Ind. went to Hoosier and Buckeye drivers.
Leading
the Indiana
contingent were Gage Walker of Fairland (Light 160), Bradley Jameson of Logansport (Heavy Honda),
J.J. Haley of Winamac (Senior Honda) and Carson O’Bryan of Kokomo and Brady
Braun of Winamac (Junior Rookie). Ohio
champions included Ryan Fleming of Xenia
(Heavy AA and Light World Formula), Jeff Dunfee III of Mantua (Junior Honda and Junior Stock), Craig
Swartz of New Paris (Heavy World Formula), Cooper Clouse of Ohio City
(Senior Stock), Chase Dean of Springfield
(Light Mod), Austin Nemire of Toledo
(Light B), Erika Newcome of Pickerington (Light AA), Ross Rankine of Willard
(Senior Honda) and Nigel Mathias of Columbus
(Heavy 160).
Unfinished
business from the recent “Little Hoosier 100” found Fleming and Josh Daugherty
of Pendleton, Ind. scoring victories in the Light and
Heavy World Formula 100-lap feature race which had been rained out at Lakeville, Ind.
and conducted as part of the Kokomo
activities.
Round
six of USAC’s .25 Midget “Generation Next” tour will unfold Sept. 19-20 with
the Jegs Crown Midget Super Nationals at Columbus
(Ohio) Motor
Speedway.
