4TH “BATTLE AT THE BRICKYARD” AT MINI-INDY THIS WEEKEND
USAC’s Mopar .25 Midget teams are converging on Indianapolis this week for the 4th Annual “Battle at the Brickyard” which will be held at the Mini-Indy Speedway on the Indiana State Fairgrounds, culminating with Saturday’s A-Mains.
The top three drivers who help collect the most money for Jeff Gordon and the AARP Foundation’s “Drive to End Hunger” will have an opportunity to meet Jeff during a special meet and greet on Sunday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway prior to NASCAR’s “Brickyard 400.”
The “Battle at the Brickyard” is round 11 of the 2012 USAC Mopar .25 :Generation Next Tour” and will help determine USAC champions who will be honored in Indianapolis at season’s end.
A special “Prelude to the Brickyard” Pit Party and BBQ is slated Wednesday at Mini-Indy following practice. Heat races are scheduled on Thursday, with participating kids offered free tickets to USAC’s “Rich Vogler Classic” presented by J.D. Byrider, featuring the Traxxas Silver Crown cars and Mopar Midgets at Raceway Park in Indianapolis.
Lower mains are on tap Friday, as well as a specially-arranged USAC tour of IndyCar race shops in the capital city.
A-Mains and awards presentations will take place Saturday, following opening ceremonies at 8 am.
Families registered for the “Battle at the Brickyard” prior to July 9 are eligible for free tickets to Sunday’s NASCAR “Brickyard 400” at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
