IN KALAMAZOO “GENERATION NEXT” ROUND 13
Four drivers accounted for nine of the 12 class championships contested Saturday during round #13 of the 2012 USAC Mopar .25 “Generation Next” tour at Little Kalamazoo Speedway in Kalamazoo, Mich.
Wil Raber of Allegan, Mich. claimed three trophies, while Carson Hocevar of Portage, Mich. earned two. Harrison Burton of Huntersville, N.C. and Frankie Nervo of Stow, Ohio also won twice. Raber captured wins in Heavy Honda, Heavy 160 and Unrestricted Animal, while Hocevar’s wins came in Senior Honda and Senior Animal. Burton won in Light 160 and Light World Formula and Nervo was the victor in Heavy World Formula and Heavy AA.
Other class winners at Kalamazoo were Logan Heath of Hereford, Ariz. in Junior Honda, Tyler Ankrum of Yucaipa, Calif. in Light Mod and Nathaniel Brinker of Coplay, Pa. in Light AA.
Two former Mopar .25 Champions won on the big Kalamazoo Speedway Saturday night, with Neshanic Station, N.J.’s Ryan krachun and Brownsburg, Ind.’s Ross Rankine picking up wins.
Rookie championships went to Justin Bozell, Sam Johnson, Jackson Rumery and Cody McGahn.
Leading their respective classes entering the final “Generation Next” events at Toledo and Rossburg, Ohio are: Neal Allison of Greensboro, N.C. (Junior Honda), Allison and Connor Gross of Middleton, Mass. (Junior Animal), Hocevar (Senior Honda and Light AA), Raber (Heavy Honda and Unrestricted Animal), Raber and Kyle Lee of Mercersburg, Pa. (Heavy AA), Ankrum (Light Mod), Collin Olson of Maplewood, Minn. (Heavy Mod), Burton (Light World Formula and Light 160), Mark Miller of Mooresville, N.C. (Heavy World Formula and Heavy 160), Hocevar, Burton and Zeb Wise of Angola, Ind. are all tied for the lead in Senior Animal.
The Toledo “Labor Day Spectacular” round is slated August 31-September 2 and the “4-Crown Nationals” finale at Rossburg is September 21-23.
