2ND-GENERATION STREICHER EARNS FIRST USAC TRIUMPH
Richie Streicher, the 12-year-old son of 1991 USAC National Midget Champion Mike Streicher, earned his first USAC .25 Midget feature victory Sunday afternoon at Toledo, Ohio. The Findlay, Ohio driver won the Heavy AA Class title at USAC’s “Generation Next” Round Three at the Lucas County Recreation Center, beating a full field of cars and drivers in the race honoring the late Bob Nervo. Streicher also finished second at Xenia, Ohio May 17.
Streicher, whose father Mike also won six times in USAC National Midget competition, was joined at Toledo by USAC .25 Midget class winners Blake Schneider of Seymour, Ind., (Junior Rookie Race #1), Madison Woods of Franklin, Ohio (Junior Rookie Race #2), Miranda Beighler of Plainfield, Ind. (Senior Rookie), Jeff Dunfee III of Mantua, Ohio (Junior Honda), Ross Rankine of Willard, Ohio (Senior Honda and Light World Formula), Kyle Compton of Dublin, Ohio (Heavy Honda), Louis McGrath of Strasburg, Ohio (Junior Stock), Cooper Clouse of Ohio City, Ohio (Senior Stock), Austin Nemire of Toledo, Ohio (Light Mod), Andrew Blakely of Holland, Ohio (Light 160), Cannon Konzer of Holly, Mich. (Heavy 160), Brendon Bock of Franklin Square, N.Y. (Light B), Noah Gallandt (Heavy B), Justen Garmenn of Grand Rapids, Mich. (Heavy World Formula), Erika Newcombe of Pickerington, Ohio (Light AA) and Daniel Hall of Columbus, Ohio (Half).
Round four of USAC’s “Generation Next” .25 Midget tour is the “Bob Nock Memorial” July 4-5 at the “Bullring” at West Liberty, Ohio. USAC’s Western District Championships unfold June 20-21 at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway.
