EXPECTED AT USAC's JANUARY 9 "NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS"
The United States Auto Club, continuing its campaign to create a level playing field and control costs, is expected to announce which tire has been selected as the spec tire for its .25 Midget racing series for 2009 at the January 9 "Night of Champions" banquet in Indianapolis, Ind.

Extensive testing has produced data which will be used in determining the tire selection.

"Our goal is to determine the best product for our competitors and we plan to announce our selection at the January 9 celebration of our 2008 racing season," said USAC's Development Series Director James Spink.

Clubs already on board for USAC .25 Midget racing in 2009 include the Kokomo (Ind.) Quarter Midget Club, Mac-O-Chee Quarter Midget Club (Ohio), Las Vegas Quarter Midget Racing Association, Miami Valley Quarter Midget Racing Association, Northwest Ohio Quarter Midget Racing Association, Central Pennsylvania Quarter Midget Racing Club and the Tampa Bay Quarter Midget Racing Association.
