Placerville, California (October 28, 2021)………Kyle Larson has won just about anything and everything in the seat of a racecar, but now he’ll take on the opportunity to defend his throne in the November 18-19-20 Elk Grove Ford Hangtown 100 USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship event at California’s Placerville Speedway.

Larson (Elk Grove, Calif.) will compete behind the wheel of his Kyle Larson Open Wheel No. 01 in the three-night event.

The 1/4-mile dirt oval was the location where Larson took home a $32,000 payday for his efforts in the inaugural Hangtown 100 in 2019, leading the final 66 laps en route to the 100-lap victory while also adding a bonus as the overall event points champion.

Placerville Speedway is a special place to Larson as it’s the venue where he made his first sprint car start.  It’s the place he won his first sprint car race.  It’s the place he describes as his “home track.”

The current NASCAR Cup Series point leader has won nine series races in 2021 while also adding victories in the Chili Bowl, the Knoxville Nationals, the Kings Royal and the BC39, just to name a few, to his remarkable run of success this season.

Larson is undefeated in USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship competition in 2021, capturing both the Stoops Pursuit Race and the following night’s 39-lap BC39 during August at The Dirt Track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

His 24 career USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midget feature victories puts Larson within the top-20 on the all-time series win list and he hopes to add three more at Placerville.

“We are excited to have Kyle Larson in the field at the Elk Grove Hangtown 100 once again,” event promoter and Elk Grove Ford President Matt Wood stated in a press release.  “Kyle grew up racing around northern California and is one of the largest fan favorites that we have out here, so it will be great to have him on hand.  What he has done so far in his career is amazing and it’s special that he continues to have such a passion for dirt track racing.  We hope everyone has reserved their seats because it’s going to be a thrilling event.”
