KOKOMO USAC REGIONAL MIDGETS POSTPONED TO SATURDAY
Kokomo, Indiana (October 14, 2021)………Friday night’s forecasted rain has forced a schedule adjustment of Kokomo Klash 15 presented by Allstar Performance at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway.
All events originally slated to be run on Friday, including the penultimate round of the USAC Midwest Regional Midget season, will now take place on Saturday night, October 16, at the quarter-mile dirt oval.
Saturday’s event will feature full programs for Midgets, Sprint Cars, Racesaver Sprints and Thunder Cars.
Pits open on Saturday night at 3pm with grandstands opening at 4pm. The draw will closes and the drivers meeting will commence at 5:30pm with group qualifying at 6pm with racing to follow.
Thomas Meseraull (San Jose, Calif.) is the defending Kokomo Klash Midget winner. Additional past Kokomo Klash Midget winners include Jerry Coons Jr. (2007 & 2008), Bobby East (2009), Dave Darland (2010 & 2014), Tracy Hines (2011 & 2012), Shane Cottle (2013 & 2017), Spencer Bayston (2015), Chris Windom (2016) and Zeb Wise (2018).
Chance Crum (Snohomish, Wash.) captured the victory in a USAC Midwest Regional Midget feature in August of this year. Defending series champ Chett Gehrke (Broken Arrow, Okla.) leads the series standings by 26 over Bryan Stanfill (Bakersfield, Calif.).
Day two events for Late Models, Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stocks and Hornets have been pushed back to Sunday, October 17, at Kokomo.
With the schedule shift, teams who were pre-registered and will not be able to attend the event are advised to send Kokomo Speedway a message through its Facebook page or via their website at www.KokomoSpeedway.net.
